The clue’s in the name, ClassicLine are specialists in Classic Car Insurance and have been since 1986. Whether you have an iconic, antique, a collectable or prestige vehicle; we will try to find a specialist scheme for you. We have numerous schemes with our panel of insurers, all designed to be of high quality, with lots of features and benefits. This can then be tailored to meet the needs of our clients, all combined under a competitive premium.
Some of the benefits which we offer on our policies include:
Agreed Value: So your dreams don’t stay shattered for long. In the case of a total loss claim, you’ll be guaranteed to be paid out the agreed value amount. As long as your vehicle is over 5 years old then we’ll be able to put an agreed value on the policy, all we need is a valuation. If you’re a member of a car club, or have a specialist garage that can value it for you, then we’ll put it in force free of charge. We also have an in house solution available.
Limited Mileage Discount: The less you drive it, the less you pay. That’s the gist of how this discount works. For the vehicles that are pre 1970 we also offer unlimited mileage, but on limited mileage rates.
Track Day and Rally Cover: We know you like to show off your classic cars, so that’s why if you’re a member of a car club and they’re organising the track day/rally event; we’ll even cover it for free.
Breakdown Cover: Included on all our policies is UK roadside and assistance. There’s also the opportunity to add on extras such as home start and EU cover, so you can sleep easy wherever you are in the EU.
European Cover: Our policy cover also extends across into the EU with up to 90 days of free European cover available.
Multi-Vehicle Policies: If we’re already insuring your classic vehicle, then we can look to accommodate other vehicles you may have.
Salvage Rights: In the event of an accident and the vehicle is written off, upon payout your vehicles ownership transfers over to the insurer. With our policies you’ll always have the right to purchase your vehicle back. That way you can salvage any parts of the vehicle, or restore the vehicle yourself (depending on the circumstances of the write off).
This question is asked every day, but it is very hard to define a criteria. Here’s a few frequently asked questions in regards to the subject:
Does it need to be over 10 years old?
Not necessarily, we always take the age of the vehicle into consideration, but we also offer a modern classic car scheme for vehicles that can be from new.
Does it need to be over £XXXX in value?
The term ‘classic car’ doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be expensive. The Morris Minor, the Mini; as classic as they are, they won’t be reaching the dizzying heights of Ferrari values.
What cars are classed as classics? Can you send me a list?
Unfortunately not. What we like to do is turn the question around; “Why should we insure your car as a classic?” Just think about the make and model of the vehicle, the production numbers, how many are left (see related links), the age of the vehicle, the mileage your doing in the vehicle, how you’re using it. All these factors are important to us, no one knows about your vehicle as much as you do, so pitch your vehicle to us.
How many left?
Answering the age old question; how many of a particular make/model of vehicle have survived to the current day?. A very useful tool for everyone to see how rare/collectable their classic is.
