The NSRA Southern Swap Meet is probably the biggest autojumble in the UK that is solely dedicated to vintage car parts and memorabilia for hot rodding, custom, and modified car projects. It’s where you can pick up anything from axles, engines, and body panels to garage signs, vintage oil cans, and tools. Basically, everything you need to keep you working away on your rodding or custom car project.

This year, taking place on Sunday 2nd March 2025, at North Weald Airfield, the event coincided with ‘National Old Stuff Day’. If you haven’t heard of this awareness day before, you aren’t alone, but what a fitting coincidence. ‘National Old Stuff’ day is dedicated to reflecting on the value of old things and to consider how you can repurpose, swap, or sell them… What better place could there have been to mark this day than at the National Street Rod Association’s Southern Swap Meet! The place to swap, buy and sell, and breathe life back into old parts that would otherwise be sat unused.

Traders and sellers arrive early, cars and vans brimming with parts to sell, many having spent weeks clearing out their garages, ready to move on the treasures that they have been collecting for years. Seasoned traders and businesses set out their stock, and the caterers are poised, ready for the hordes of shoppers to swarm in looking for the perfect part and, of course, a bargain.

But this is so much more than just an autojumble. The Southern Swap Meet is where the rodding season begins. It is the event that brings the community back together after the long winter and where plans are made for the exciting year ahead.

Speaking of the year ahead, what is the NSRA’s next event in 2025?

Why not enjoy a morning out for a tasty breakfast and car chat with the NSRA Big Brunch in April. If driving is more your style, take part in the NSRA Spring Rumble with various informal drive outs happening across the country.

Following a two-year break, the original rod run, the NSRA Fun Run, is back for 2025. Taking place in sunny St Ives, Cornwall, this is one not to miss. Find out more by visiting https://nsra.org.uk/events/fun-run/.

News has it that it is the last year the Southern Swap Meet will be held at North Weald Airfield as the site has been sold to a well-known search engine for their servers, but we wish the NSRA crew all the best with finding a fantastic new venue for 2026.

The season is just getting started!
