With the NSRA Hot Rod Supernationals 2024 just a few days away, we thought we would share what we are most looking forward to and why this event should not be missed.

The show gets underway on Thursday 1st August for pre-booked NSRA members only. If you haven’t pre-booked, don’t worry, as you can still turn up and pay on the gate for the weekend from Friday 2nd August.

Throughout the weekend, there’ll be live music and family entertainment, expert talks and Q&A’s, Saturday cruise out, iconic displays, and all the usual chilled out hotrodding vibes we love about the Supernats. The cars are of course the stars of the show, and Sunday’s Show ‘n’ Shine for pre-1972 rods and customs is billed to be as spectacular as ever, but what else can visitors expect to see and do this year?

1

Saturday Cruise Out

Join the NSRA for an exciting cruise out on Saturday, showcasing some of the finest vehicles in motion.
2

Live Music

Enjoy performances from 11 bands over the 4 days, offering a mix of rocking and party vibes to keep the whole family entertained.

Expert Talks and Q&A Sessions

Participate in informative talks and Q&A sessions including on building hotrods to pass the IVA test with the NSRA’s Legislation Officer, Trevor Gardiner. If you are building to IVA, or interested in finding out more, we recently caught up with Trevor to learn how the NSRA is supporting its members and what resources are available. Read the full interview here.

ClassicLine Insurance will be joining the panel and offering expert insights on insuring your rod or custom car project, details on the NSRA members’ insurance scheme, as well as options for insuring your vehicle for use for weddings and/or proms, and coverage for towing and vehicles on trailers behind motorhomes. If you have an insurance-related question, come on down and join us on Saturday afternoon in the Party Tent.

Debut author and ClassicLine client, Lesley Brown, is delighted to also be joining the panel! With a hotrodding husband and a drag racing champion for a son, Lesley’s adult life has been dominated by horsepower as she immersed herself in their passions. Meanwhile, Lesley harboured an ambition of her own – to write a novel.

Finding Carla is a tale about Carla, a prematurely retired 50-something mum and grandmother who jets off to America for the trip of a lifetime along the legendary Route 66, after her husband ups and leaves her out of the blue. The book chronicles the background and landscapes of historic Route 66, bringing it to life through Carla’s eyes during an exhilarating and sometimes perilous journey in a classic 1960 red Corvette. The adventure continues through California, a land of beautiful sunsets and Pomona Raceway, where Carla catches a fix of nitro and thunderous horsepower.

Read about Finding Carla here and join the Q&A session to hear more on the inspiration behind this exhilarating American car-themed novel.
