ClassicLine is delighted to report that the Hammerwich Classic Car Show, on October 8th, 2023, was a great success! Organised by our friends at the Online Austin Seven Club – Lichfield Group, the Hammerwich Classic Car Show was for all tax-exempt historic vehicles over 40 years old.
Club secretary, Steve Clarke, reports that around 170 classic cars were on show, and there was good support from the local general public, and great weather too. As one of the club’s insurance partners, we were delighted to give our support through sponsorship and offering goody bags for each participating vehicle. Steve tells us, “Indeed, such was the success that we ran out of the ‘goody bags’ so kindly supplied by yourselves! It was a case of first come, first served!”.
On the day, a trophy was awarded to the car that two ‘non specialists’ would like to go home in. The award being decided by a member of Burntwood Lions, the organisers’ chosen charity, together with a staff member from Hammerwich Cricket Club who kindly hosted the gathering free of charge.
Following on from the successes of this year’s event, the Online Austin Seven Club intends to repeat this event at the end of next season, as well as a smaller event at the beginning of the season, open only to pre-2nd World War vehicles. We look forward to sharing the details with you!
