It feels like only yesterday we were counting down to the start of the 2025 show season. Now, as September draws to a close, the season is winding down once again. But before summer road trips make way for winter garage projects, there was time for one final dose of nostalgia action at the NSRA Hot Rod Drags, held at Santa Pod Raceway from 12th–14th September 2025.
A firm favourite on the National Street Rod Association’s calendar, the Hot Rod Drags always delivers a brilliant mix of pre-’73 hot rod Run What Ya Brung, exciting class racing, and hot rod, custom and American show and shine displays.
This year’s event was rather dominated by the unpredictable weather. Strong head winds down the track made for an extra challenge, but the racers took it in their stride, adjusting their dial ins and giving it their best shot. There were a few incidents and oil downs on the track, but as usual the track crew did a fantastic job of getting the track up and running again swiftly. Overall, despite attendance numbers appearing on the quieter side this year, the atmosphere remained as warm and enthusiastic as ever, – an excellent weekend as always!
