It has been a good few years since we last attended a car show at Billing Aquadrome, so we were eager to see how the venue had changed and if it had retained the charm we all remember so well.

Whilst there are noticeably more holiday homes and camping pods, the site remains largely unchanged. The roadways are still there, the riverbanks and lakes, and of course the geese are still very much at home, but Billing Aquadrome still has the feeling that we all remember. It felt like the old days with a central showfield, cruising the roadways around the site, and relaxing in the evening around the bbq. Yes, Billing is most definitely back!

Popstalgia, the only show dedicated to the Ford Pop family, is the first show to try out the venue under its new management. Bringing together Ford Populars, Fordsons, Prefects, Pilots, e83ws, Y Types, and Ford 100e’s, this year’s show was another great success.

Sunday is of course the main show day, but for those attending for the weekend, it is a chance to catch up with fellow Ford Pop owners and reminisce on the memories of Billing Aquadrome. Saturday’s cruise out was to Santa Pod Raceway for some Top Fuel action at the FIA Euro Finals. 37 cars convoyed the short distance to watch the racing and observe a two-minute silence to remember Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Sunday’s show and shine got off to a great start with cars lined up in their dozens on the main show field. The team from Orange Pop Racing with their 7-second Fordson formed the central focus and the NSRA team provided support by selling merchandise from their van, all set against the backdrop of a retro DJ spinning the decks. This great weekend was rounded off by the prize-giving ceremony and we’d like to extend our congratulations to all the winners of this years event.

We have no doubt that this will be the first of many visits to Billing Aquadrome, thanks Popstalgia! Hope you enjoy the photos…
