The Rootes Heritage Day was back on Sunday 21st July 2024, and it great to be invited by the good folk from the Rootes Archive Centre to be part of this special event at the British Motor Museum near Gaydon.

A lovely leisurely drive started the day and after erecting the ClassicLine awning, we had time to watch all the classic cars arrive. A gorgeous Sunbeam Lotus parked next to us for most of the day – a stunning car, and one we would very much like to own ourselves!

As usual with the Rootes Heritage Day, there was a strong turnout from all the Rootes marques, from pre-70s Hillman’s, Humbers, Singers and Sunbeams to the later Chrysler, Simca, and Talbot models, including representation from the Sunbeam Talbot Daracaq Register. It was also a delight to see some of the marque’s classic heavy commercial vehicles on display, including a nostalgic Commer coach.

The day passed far too quickly but we had a great time meeting clients and fellow classic car enthusiasts and discussing classic car insurance quotes with potential new customers. The Rootes Archive Centre will be hosting open days on the 4th August and 1st September 2024, if you can, do go along to have a look. You will be amazed by what the team has archived and preserved, and the history that has been retained as part of this amazing UK motoring heritage centre.

Enjoy the photos!
