The second weekend of NSRA Spring Rumbles took place on the 13th and 14th May, with Rumbles taking place around the country, including Worcestershire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, the North East, and of course, Sussex. Our roving reporter hooked up with the Sussex rumble for the day, joining NSRA members as they cruised some of the most scenic roads in Sussex.

Meeting at Forest Row for coffee and pastries, the Rumblers headed over the Ashdown Forest towards the village of Ditchling. From here, the group made their way up to Devil’s Dyke, taking in the stunning views of the South Downs and the coast. Leaving the viewpoint, the rumble route went through the pretty West Sussex villages of Stenning, Storrington, and Amberley – home of the Weald & Downland Living Museum where the Repair Shop is filmed. The destination was the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit, where the group parked under the tree-lined roadways and enjoyed unrivalled views of the historic track and start line. Topping off what was a brilliant day, the group was treated to two fly pasts of the TR9 Spitfire as it taxied out and flew over the English Channel. What a treat!

Next weekend, our roving reporter will be joining the Mid Wales Spring Rumble – we’ll be sure to bring you more highlights!

The NSRA Spring Rumble will be running until the middle of June. If you are joining one of this year’s NSRA Spring Rumbles, we’d love to hear your highlights from the day.
