The South Leicestershire MG Car Club hosted their annual RATAE Road Run on Sunday 8th June 2025, marking another successful year for this much loved classic motoring event.
Organised annually since 2012, the RATAE Run is open to all MG’s, as well as classic and modern classic cars, regardless of manufacturer, and is in support of a local charity. This year’s run concluded at the stunning Lamport Hall and Gardens, a beautiful Grade I listed building in Northamptonshire.
Starting the day at The White Horse in Broughton Astley, participants gathered for breakfast rolls and coffee before setting off on the run with their tulip route guides and rally plaques. Graham Dorman, Chairman of the South Leicestershire MG Car Club, said it was a well-attended event and pleasing to see many new faces and entries.
Each year, this fantastic event supports a local charity, and this year, the chosen charity for 2025 was Leicester Musical Memory Box, a not-for-profit organisation that sing for people affected by dementia or other memory problems around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Through sponsorship, entries, and proceeds from the day, it is with great pleasure that the South Leicestershire MG Car Club announces that they will be donating £2,500 to Leicester Musical Memory Box. As a sponsor of this event, ClassicLine Insurance would like to extend our congratulations to the organisers, volunteers, and participants for supporting such a meaningful local cause. Well done to all involved.
The RATAE Run will be returning on Sunday 14th June 2026, with the prestigious Burghley House announced as the destination. Interested in taking part? Find out more and register your interest here: https://www.mgleicester.org/2025/06/ratae-run-2026/
