Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register wins Best Club Website 2019!

By November 18, 2019 No Comments

We would like to give a big ClassicLine congratulations to our friends at the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register on being presented the Best Club Website award at the Classic & Sports Car classic car club awards on Friday 8th November 2019.

The awards reception that took place after the opening day of the NEC Classic Motor Show, saw the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register shortlisted along with the Wolseley Register and the Maserati Club UK.

The judges felt that STAR’s new website, which was two years in the making, pays tribute to both the club and the cars. We have to agree! The website is fresh, responsive and easy to navigate, as well as being full of information for members and providing a detailed history of the cars. As the club celebrates their golden jubilee anniversary in 2019, the new website was launched to mark the occasion. To then go on to win an award is a credit to all those involved with running the club.

The Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Register was first established in 1969 to cater for all vehicles under the Sunbeam, Talbot and Alpine marques. Cars as diverse as side-valve Talbot and Sunbeam Talbot 10 horsepower saloons, coupes and tourers, the slightly larger 2 litre models, and the big 3 and 4 litre cars. STAR also caters for post-war overhead valve Sunbeam Talbot 80 and 90 saloons and coupes, Mark I and III Sunbeam Alpines, and Sunbeam Mark III saloons and coupes built until production ceased in 1957.

ClassicLine have been the official insurance partner for STAR since January 2016. For us it is a pleasure getting to know members and continuously supporting the great work they do.

We would like to pass on our congratulations to The Wolseley Register and the NSRA on being shortlisted for an award as well. A special mention also goes to the Sunbeam Rapier Owners’ Club on winning the Best Club Run/Rally award for their Rootes Around Britain event. Encompassing 17 tour across the UK, the event took place throughout summer 2019 to celebrate the clubs 40th anniversary.
