As the sun sets on 2024, we look back at a selection of classic car events and moments that made 2024 a busy and memorable year for the ClassicLine Insurance team.

Mini6000 Expedition, January 2024

The year started off on a high – quite literally! The ClassicLine-sponsored 1974 Mini 1000 ‘Daisy’ took on one of the biggest challenges ever made by such a small car. Shipping the car to Uruguay, our resident road tripper, Ben from Pub2Pub Adventures, and Daisy crossed South American terrains to reach the Atacama Desert in bid to take this recognisable small British classic car up the world’s highest volcano. The crew experienced dirt track roads, extreme temperatures, altitude sickness, and a host of mechanical ailments but reached an incredible 5,920 metres above sea level.

£1,810 Presented to Mission Motorsport, February 2024

In 2023, ClassicLine co-hosted a classic car show with a rather unusual theme – Festival of the Dead, the Car Show. The cars were of course the stars of the show, with bygone marques celebrated across the field, but the heroes of the day were Mission Motorsport. As our chosen charity, every ticket purchased contributed to Mission Motorsport, and we were immensely proud to present a cheque to them for £1,810.47.

60 Years of Ford Mustang, April 2024

As a specialist in American classic car insurance, it was a pleasure to support the Surrey Mustang Owners Club at their ‘60 Years of Ford Mustang’ event at the iconic Brooklands Museum. This celebratory event was open to all Ford Mustang owners and other American cars and attracted over 800 Mustangs, classic American vehicles, famous TV and film replica vehicles, and a collection of iconic British Street Rods.

Breakfast of the Dead, May 2024

Following the successes of Festival of the Dead, The Car Show, in summer 2023, we invited vehicle owners and enthusiasts of classic car marques no longer manufactured to join us for an informal breakfast meet at a rather quirky venue! Hosted in conjunction with the good folk at MoreThanPolish and Industry & Supply, it was a fantastic gathering of defunct car marques not often spotted together.

Simply Porsche, June 2024

The first Sunday in June sees our annual trip to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu to join our partner car club, The Independent Porsche Enthusiast Club, for Simply Porsche. The 800 strong display saw models ranging from the 1950s 356’s all the way through to the present Porsche 992 GT3. This is always a successful show, meeting new potential customers and loyal existing clients coming over to have a chat or to discuss a new insurance quotation for their cherished Porsche.

Hot Rod Supernationals, August 2024

This year’s NSRA’s Hot Rod Supernationals was graced by wall-to-wall sunshine and the busiest lineup in the show’s 33-year history. As the official insurance provider for the NSRA, it’s always a favourite on our calendar. From 11 bands over the four days, offering a mix of rocking and party vibes, to expert talks, a cruise out, and special displays, culminating in Sunday’s hot rod, street rod, and custom car show ‘n’ shine.

After the event, we kept the show’s magic alive, putting the spotlight on one of the winning cars, a 1940 Willys Coupe.
