The 2025 NSRA Nostalgia Nationals at Santa Pod Raceway, held from May 2nd to 4th, delivered an action-packed weekend of nostalgia drag racing, nitrous, and burning rubber! The heatwave temperatures added to the vibrant atmosphere, and the show ‘n’ shine area showcased the thriving British hot rodding scene.

Here’s a quick roundup of the event’s highlights

This year’s event was well supported with a great mix of pre-1973 ‘Run What Ya Brung’ cars and class racing. The usual classes attended, with strong fields from the Gasser Circus, Nostalgia Superstock and Outlaw Anglia, Wild Bunch, and Supercharged Outlaws. New to the lineup, we particularly enjoyed the Ratmog display, a group for Morris Minor owners who fancy something a bit different from mainstream original classics – it’s great to see so many Morris Minors out and having fun!

After several years’ absence, with a return at last year’s Hot Rod Drags, the Flathead Meltdown formed part of this year’s lineup. Giving a blast from the past, the Flathead Meltdown is a traditional hot rod class for street driven, car derived valve-in-block engines, with the addition of classes for race cars and overhead valve conversions. It’s great to see these cars taking to the strip once again, celebrating the spirit of early drag racing

Well done to Alan, Steve, and Martyn – the Nostalgia Nationals team – and the NSRA for another great event. As the official insurance partner for the National Street Rod Association, it is always exciting to see NSRA members out and about, enjoying their cars. And that’s exactly what they’ll be doing at the end of May as the NSRA Fun Run makes its return. With a week-long event, cruises, pool parties, and plenty of cream teas, it’s set to be an action-packed event. As a hot rod, street rod, and custom car insurance specialist, ClassicLine Insurance is looking forward to supporting the NSRA Committee and joining in the fun. See you at the beach!
