Our friends at the National Street Rod Association held their annual members Pre-49 Event over the May Day bank holiday weekend.

The event, which is open to all NSRA members with cars of a pre-1949 body style, is primarily a driving and social weekend. To go in line with the clubs 1949 vehicle cutoff for this event and in a nod to the roots of hotrodding, there is usually a 1940’s wartime theme.

This year’s event was based at Theobalds Park, which was used by the Royal Artillery during World War II. Here, the group gathered in the evenings for food, partying and the famous NSRA quiz which we always hear about at the clubs’ AGM!

Saturday’s cruise took the 30+ hot rods and custom cars to Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker near Brentwood followed by a coffee stop at Lee Valley Water Park.

The cruise on Sunday headed to the RAF Museum at Hendon where the club put on a vibrant display in front of the war time hangar.

The NSRA’s next event is the Nostalgia Nationals on the 10-12 May, followed by the Fun Run in June. You can catch the ClassicLine team at the NSRA Fun Run on the 14-16 June 2019 at Rutland Showground where we will be available to discuss all your hot rod, custom and American car insurance requirements plus sponsoring a trophy during Sunday’s prize giving!
